The Studio, and really Anywhere Real Estate as a whole, is an excellent place to have a squiggly career. Of course, you can also pursue a progressive and linear career by climbing the proverbial career ladder from one position to the next. But for those who seek a more varied path that will expose them to a wide range of experiences, challenges and responsibilities, this is a good place to be.
Stacy Juaire, The Studio's very talented media project manager, started with the company back in 2005, more than a decade before we even became known as The Studio. She has worn so many hats, all giving her deep expertise in both real estate marketing and the company. We can't think of anyone else who'd be more suited to project managing our busy advertising department!
I talked to Stacy recently about her career and the work she does in her current role.
How would you describe what you do at The Studio? I manage about 60 different production schedules, working with our publications to get deadlines and then creating schedules for the designers. I use Workfront to set up our magazine jobs monthly for the team, as well as schedule all issues into our planner and Data Based Ads. I also maintain our website, CBView.com, and create digital issues of our magazines. I work with the communications and social media teams to get announcements about our magazines posted on all social media platforms as well as in the agent newsletters so everyone is aware.
Tell me about your favorite project so far and why it was your favorite.
We keep track of when our campaigns are used in print media on all of our individual production schedules. I was tasked with trying to automate this system, as we've been asked a few times to provide usage numbers on these campaigns, which typically would need to be pulled manually. So I designed an Excel spreadsheet that automates this for us. All the designers need to do is mark when the ad runs, and it will multiply this by the distribution number for that publication and then tally everything by month, year and even quarterly, if needed. This was my favorite project because of the necessity and the time savings that it produced. Normally, it would take me a full day to have pulled all of these numbers for just one campaign. Now I can get them in an instant!
The Studio produces a tremendous amount of advertising.
How do you keep it all straight, moving forward, on budget and on time? Lots of sticky notes – just kidding! We use both Workfront and Microsoft Planner to keep track of our jobs and stay on deadline, and I've created a vacation calendar so we can all see who is off at a glance so we know where coverage is needed. I'm also blessed to work with an amazing team of dedicated and talented individuals who make my job much easier. We work as a well-oiled machine, each gear intertwining, dependent on one another.
What do you think is the advantage or capability that your team has that our clients appreciate the most?
We are small but we are a mighty force and can get things done fast! We have pretty quick turnarounds for most of our ads, and our team is super efficient. We also do our best to cater to changes, which we get a lot of due to homes selling so fast! I think that clients appreciate the flexibility, even on such a tight schedule.
Tell me about your path to this position, as I know you've worn many hats!
I started in advertising, designing ads for just Florida back in 2005. I went on to the graphic design department for several years before landing a job in eMarketing. I was part of the product team when The Studio was first formed in 2016, working on our company intranet and providing technical support for our products. In 2019, I applied and was accepted as the advertising project manager.I feel as though I've come full circle in my career landing back to where I started 16 years ago. The different positions I've held in marketing have helped mold me into a more efficient and knowledgeable employee with The Studio. I've been lucky to work with and for some really talented individuals who took me under their wing and mentored me. I'm a much stronger person overall because of them. My boss likes to call me a Swiss Army knife!
