David's got talent. And in only four years at Anywhere Real Estate, he's left an indelible mark on The Studio and its clients for the better. As a designer, David started out by designing magazine editorials. Now, he's a senior graphic designer leading national campaigns.

David takes pride in residing in Los Angeles, California, where his sunny disposition and sought-after branding expertise shines on every project he's takes part in.

I caught up with David to talk about his career, upcoming trends and where design is headed in 2022 and beyond. Here's what he had to say.

How would you describe the work you do at The Studio?

I'd call it creativity wherever it's needed! When I first started at The Studio, I was immersed in the magazine. I designed it all from editorials to article posts and covers.

Now at the senior designer level, I always raise my hand to help the team. That includes guiding the look and feel of our national campaigns. I'll support our HTML team by coding and designing eBlasts. I'll also create social media graphics as needed. And rebranding is a treat as well for me, like our special initiative to update The Studio's website.

Tell me about your favorite project so far and why it's your favorite?

Oh man, that's like picking your favorite kid! I'd have to say it's those campaigns we've done that push our brands and showcase new, experimental creative. What I love is that every job here is different. It's the challenge that pushes my work to the next level. When a project is a puzzle, it can get real exciting. Like seeing where those creative pieces of copy, design and strategy all fit together. Sometimes they fit snugly, but other times you got to go back to the drawing board and try again. That's what it's all about.

When you think about how graphic design and marketing are evolving, what gets you really excited?

What's fascinating to me is everything surrounding virtual reality, extended reality and the metaverse. It's futurism at its finest. I've always thought it's crucial to stay on top of trends and apply it to the things we do at Anywhere. Unreal Engine is my new obsession. If you haven't heard, it's the same software tools that's used for a ton of Netflix series', huge live events and video game leaders, PS4 and Xbox 360. Believe it or not, it's free to download and learn. So, I've been exploring it like crazy and I even posted about it on The Studio's Instagram.

How do you keep on top of trends and best practices to make sure our work is cutting edge?

Training websites like SkillShare and Blender are my go-to places for keeping up with trends and new skills. They have everything there you'd want to learn. And you'll even find new ways of doing things.I also use YouTube tutorials for software. It seems like every place now has something new to offer. Like on Instagram, I'll follow an artist that I like. After viewing their content, ads will come my way for products they use. And I'll go down the rabbit hole and explore what they use and how they use it. It's fun to get lost sometimes.
