Take a Shot at Shooting

Posting videos to your social media pages can be a great self-marketing tool. These don’t have to be professionally shot videos, just simple videos shot from your phone. In a past blog, I shared with you how to shoot. Now here are a few ideas of what (topic) to shoot.

The simplest video can be one all about you or basically your bio. This is probably one of the most important videos you can post on your social media pages. When people are searching for a new real estate agent, this could be the first time they see you, and you know what they say about first impressions. If you’re doing this, make sure you look your best and sound your best, crisp, clear and confident.

Some other ideas are short videos that could be part of a series that gives your viewers an update on the area. This can be about new or popular restaurants, enjoyable places to hang out or fun family activities.  Making town/neighborhood videos would be a great way to show all the locations you work in and also let potential clients know how knowledgeable you are about the area.

Why not make videos of the houses you are currently selling? That seems like a no brainer. Shoot a quick walkthrough explaining a few key features of the home and some unique features that might draw people in. Another popular idea is a testimonial video. Find a satisfied client who wouldn’t mind saying a few nice words about you. Over time you can keep adding to this list. Having testimonial videos is a great way to show how many clients you have helped and how resourceful you are. The best part about testimonial videos is that they’re believable, especially if one talked about how you were able to handle a tough transaction because of how remarkable you are!

Whether your video is a bio, informative about an area or a house, or a glowing testimonial endorsement, people love viewing videos – as long as they’re not too long. And with the technology available on most phones today, it’s almost as easy as point and shoot. With all the benefits available to posting a video and what they can do for your business, it’s certainly worth a shot.
